When it comes to people in our family that we adore, grandparents have got to be at the top of the list. They seem to be there for us when we need them and in many cases, they will spoil us just enough to make us feel good about ourselves. Parents may also do their part but grandparents have a way of keeping us happy on the inside and the outside. It is little wonder that most of us consider them to be the most important people in our lives.
David Waterhouse is a grandfather who is fondly called ‘Pawpaw’ by his grandchildren. He is a Dallas officer who just retired and came to Kentucky because he was going to look after his grandson, Ty. David is just a regular man who enjoys being a grandfather but he doesn’t have a handle on technology. His family even finds it funny that he just doesn’t seem to get it.
Stephanie Waterhouse is David’s daughter and Ty’s mother. She thinks of her father as being ‘low-tech’. After all, he doesn’t know anything about social media and he still uses his classic flip phone but he manages to take a lot of pictures.
When they went on their first vacation without their son, they asked Pawpaw to step in and help. They thought that the little boy would have a good time with his grandfather and he had some surprises planned to keep his daughter in the loop while he was watching her son. He took some hilarious pictures that left Stephanie and her husband laughing tremendously. Just check out these images and the captions and you will smile as well.
Something that you will appreciate is the fact that he printed every caption while he was still in Dallas. It wasn’t even when he was with his grandson. All of the photographs were planned in advance and he knew that he wouldn’t be able to figure out is daughters fancy printer. That is why he already brought them preprinted.
Stephanie calls these photos the ‘Memes by Pawpaw’. They are clever and hilarious, but perhaps what is funnier is that David didn’t even know what a meme was.
David may not fully understand social media or the Internet but he has a lot of things going for him. He has creativity and that helps them to be a great grandfather.
Something that you may appreciate is that David was high-tech in his earlier years. He helped to create a database that tracks criminal information for the Dallas Police Department. It was even used by the FBI as a model for a national database.
