Adam Lambert Performs ‘Believe’ And Brings Cher To Tears

You don’t have to be a fan of American Idol to know who Adam Lambert is. Just in case you aren’t familiar with his success, he was on the eighth season of the show, American Idol and finished in second place. Many people would say that it is an achievement beyond belief but it also is very telling when it comes to Lambert’s career. After all, the first-place winner of American Idol often goes on to do amazing things, but the others don’t necessarily follow suit.

That wasn’t the case with Lambert. He had a ‘first-place loser’ finish but then he followed it up with an amazingly successful album, ‘For Your Entertainment’. Not only was it a success, but it also went above and beyond with a single, Whataya Want From Me, which ended up getting a nomination for a Grammy. He has also been on the top 10 charts for many critics’ lists but it was his next job that really showed his talent was top-notch.

Lambert managed to secure a place in 2011 to tour with the surviving band members of Queen for a six-concert tour. People began to say that he was on par with Freddie Mercury, which is an amazing feat. His success was so great that they continued the tour and may still perform together, even down until this day.

Lambert has been praised by Queen’s original guitarist, Brian May, who was also a close, personal friend of Mercury.

“It’s a voice in a billion, nobody has that range, nobody that I’ve ever worked with, not just the range but the quality throughout the range. I’ve seen Adam develop just like I watched Freddie develop,” he said.

May also said that if it was anybody but Lambert who had taken on the role, he would not be performing.

Getting the seat as the replacement for Mercury is unimaginable but Lambert went on to other amazing things. On December 2, there was a ceremony that honored Cher’s contribution to entertainment and he was a part of it. It was during that ceremony that he accomplished something else.

The Internet was already thrilled with Lambert but Cher’s response to his performance of Believe is perhaps the greatest victory of all.

She was wiping away tears as he sang his own rendition of the classic. You can see it in this video:
