Since learning about their incredible story, folks from all over the world have been fascinated with Brittany and Abby Hensel, two conjoined twins living in Minnesota. When the sisters were born in 1990, their doctors determined that it would be impossible to separate the siblings as they share the same spinal cord, spine, heart, and other major organs. While the sisters may share a body, they are two totally different people with their own unique personalities and quirks. In 2018, we caught up with the sisters who appeared in an episode of a YouTube series titled “Naked Stories.” We learned that they landed jobs as part-time elementary teachers teaching 5th-grade math.
The video shows Brittany and Abby’s excitement over their new jobs as they go out to buy school supplies. As the sisters prepared their new classroom, we hear from the school’s principal, Mr. Good, who tells interviewers that hiring the Hansel sisters was a straightforward decision. Not only did the siblings impress the administrative staff during their job interviews, but they also displayed an incredible knowledge of mathematics as well as a passion for teaching. Mr. Good also addressed inevitable concerns regarding Abby and Brittany’s appearance and how the school intended to prepare their young students.

He said that they were sending out letters to parents fully explaining the sister’s special condition. Mr. Good noted that he didn’t expect to hear any objections from parents once they meet these two incredible young ladies at the school’s annual open house.

Meanwhile, Brittany and Abby said they were incredibly excited to be teaching children in the fifth grade. They believe that it’s a unique age when children evolve into more mature mindsets and personalities.

Patti, the siblings’ mom, was also extremely excited to see her daughters pursuing their new careers.

She said that Brittany and Abby had many different dream jobs as children, including dentist and pilot. However, Patti feels that her daughters have found their calling in education as they will be able to draw out the children’s curiosity and develop meaningful connections with youngsters.
