Many Hollywood stars do not rack up a very good reputation for themselves. It often seems that they are too busy partying and living it up to really do something nice for anyone else. That isn’t the case, however, with Keanu Reeves. He performs acts of kindness on a routine basis and has become known as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. That reputation continues to follow him, including the time that he shared $100 million with the members of the set and special-effects crews and another where he gave someone the seat he had on the subway.
It does seem as if Kiana Reeves is showing up in the news on a regular basis and, unlike many of his counterparts, he gets on the news for something generous that he did. That is why it really doesn’t surprise us that he has done something else extraordinarily kind. Now that the information is out, however, it seems as if people everywhere are falling in love with him all over again.
When Keanu was growing up, he had a rather difficult life. His mother went from one husband to another and his father wasn’t there for him. He also suffered from dyslexia and when all of the life events were put together, he ended up dropping out of high school to pursue acting.
Even though Keanu was able to achieve extraordinary success, he did not have a perfect life. When Jennifer Syme became pregnant with their baby, it didn’t turn out well because their daughter was stillborn. As a result, they had difficulties and split up.
18 months after she went her own way, she was killed in a car accident. He had lost his best friend, daughter and at one time, the love of his life. Keanu was unsure where to turn but he’s a smart individual and kept his head above water.
During all of the difficulties that he had, he always had a little voice that was telling him to do something good for others. When his younger sister, Kim Reeves was diagnosed with leukemia, he knew that he had to help as well. He didn’t draw attention to himself but he started a cancer foundation in her honor behind the scenes.
He said: “I have a private foundation that’s been running for five or six years, and it helps aid a couple of children’s hospitals and cancer research. I don’t like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does.”
He didn’t want to receive attention for it, he just wanted to do everything that he could. That is truly how you define a hero.
