There are many singers that have the ability to take our breath away when they perform. Perhaps we can name a few that we enjoy listening to regularly. When you take more than one of those individuals and put them together, they sometimes blend their voices so perfectly that you can’t help but get goosebumps. That is what you are sure to experience when you hear the combination of Pink and Sarah McLachlan. It seems as if their voices are meant for each other.
If you were to choose to individuals that would sing together, you might consider their individual singing styles and try to determine how they would blend when they performed with each other. There are also going to be times when surprises take place and even if they seem like opposites, the music is going to sound perfect when it all comes together. Perhaps that is how you feel about Pink and Sarah McLachlan. They have different styles and different vocals but the contrast is beautiful. It becomes evident when you hear the two of them singing ‘In the Arms of the Angel’ together.
You might say that these two women are polar opposites when it comes to their singing styles. McLachlan is known for her classical and smooth singing, such as when she sings In the Arms of the Angel or I Will Remember You.
When you think about Pink, you probably think about rebellion because her early songs tended to follow that direction. That is especially true when she was first getting started in the music industry but eventually, she also sang some ballads that showed her range of abilities.
You probably would not have put these two performers on the same stage together but opposites do attract. When Sarah McLachlan got on the stage with Pink for a duet of McLachlan’s hit, it surprised everyone.
McLachlan started with the first stanza and then Pink added some harmony. The audience was on their feet by this point as they were singing together.
Pink did not disappoint. She has a powerful voice but it is one that blends well. By the time they hit the second stanza, Pink was adding her own flavor to the song.
People were in love with what these two women were doing.
“Love both of these women!!!” read one comment. “Two very different artists, each one incredible in their own way, come together and produce such a sublime performance. For me, this is as close to perfection as you can get!”
Others were trying to compare the two artists and see which one was better.
“It’s like comparing wine and whiskey,” read another comment. “Pink couldn’t sing in the beautiful syrupy smooth notes that SM sings any easier than SM could reproduce the raspy emotional tones of Pink. They are both friggin awesome.”
Perhaps you have your favorite but there’s no denying that these two women sing beautifully together.
