There is a stray dog in Buenos Aires, Argentina that is absolutely the most beautiful creature we’ve ever heard of. She had given birth to a litter of puppies and was caring for them in the best way possible. As a caring mother of many young animals, she also wanted to care for others when they needed it. That is when she found someone else that also needed her attention and she was more than willing to give it.
We often hear about dogs doing some rather amazing things but sometimes, they truly go above and beyond in their desire to be close to humans. That is the case with this stray dog who survived on the streets and had a number of other pups she was feeding. In Argentina, it was winter so she was in a hurry to care for them.
It was at this point that this stray dog found a newborn human baby in a nearby alley. The baby had been abandoned by its mother and dog simply did what she did best. Her maternal instincts took over and she knew that the baby needed to be warm and well cared for. She ran back to her puppies then took them one by one to the place where the newborn was found. She then wrapped her body around the newborn to provide plenty of warmth.
A local resident heard the cries of the newborn the following morning. She went outside to see what was going on and she was shocked when she saw what had taken place. The stray had taken in the abandoned baby as if one of her litter. She contacted the police immediately.
The baby was named Santino and he was rushed to the emergency room to get medical care. The woman who found the baby with the stray admitted that the baby wouldn’t have survived if it weren’t for the care of that special dog. The doctors agreed.
Santino was in fairly good shape, considering the ordeal he had been through. We have this beautiful mama dog to thank for his survival.
Eventually, the baby’s mother was found. She was a 33-year-old woman from the local area who already had eight other children. She was arrested and charged for the abandonment of the newborn.
In the meantime, the stray was taken to a local shelter with her puppies. They will be cared for until they can be placed in forever homes.
