Teacher Spends All Night On Emotional Easter Surprise And Leaves The Classroom Speechless

Teachers get into the profession for a variety of reasons. Some do so because they want the summer off and others are interested in teaching in general. There are also some teachers, however, who absolutely love the profession and the thought of being able to shape young minds. They will go above and beyond, and that is where Brent Walker falls into place. He is a math teacher for fifth-grade students at an elementary school in Tampa, Florida. He decided to surprise the students with a special Easter celebration.

At first, he was going to just pick up some plastic Easter eggs at the local Walmart. His homeroom class has 20 students and he thought it would be fun to have an egg hunt. As he went through the store and looked at some of the bigger Easter baskets, however, he thought about how much his students would enjoy them. They were absolutely full of candy and toys and he wished that he could just put out the money and buy all of them a big basket instead.

Brett went on Facebook to see if any of his friends were interested in being a sponsor for his homeroom students. He didn’t want to do it for only his class, however, he wanted all three of the fifth-grade classes to enjoy it. That’s a total of 63 children! What ended up happening surprised him because it spread through the community like wildfire.

When Brent came to school the following morning, he was ready to set up a surprise. His fellow teachers were also happy to give a hand. In many of the families of Brent’s students, they couldn’t afford to give Easter presents.

As you watch the heartwarming video below, you can see the kids lining up in anticipation of what is on each of their desks. The expressions are incredible.

Brent talked to a local news station about his gratitude for those who helped him make it a reality.

“I think it will encourage them, hopefully, to really do their best and try harder, because they know people they’ve never met before are fighting for them and are encouraging them from all over the place. I mean this was coming from all over the country.”

It’s amazing when strangers come together and pull off something incredible. You can see more about it in this video:
