When it comes to having an animal save us, there are a few that likely come to mind. Perhaps you think about Lassie or another dog that was famous for saving those they care for the most. There may also be other animals that save people, both in the movies and in real life. One type of animal that we don’t often think of, however, is a cat. After all, they often seem to be more interested in themselves than others, but that wasn’t the case for the feline in this story.
This story involves a little black cat named Piran that lived in Cornwall, England. Like many cats, she absolutely loved her owner so when the 83-year-old fell down into a ravine and landed near a stream, it was only right that the cat would help her live. Of course, what do you do if your owner falls 70 feet down a hill? You do what you can do, and as far as this cat was concerned, the best thing to do was meow. Somebody ended up finding the cat in the corner of a large cornfield and she was meowing loudly.
When they looked into it further, they discovered that the cat’s owner had fallen down into a ravine some 70 feet and landed near a stream. It took the fire rescue, along with the water rescue team, an ambulance, and a specialist team to lift the female back up to safety again.
The cat is certainly one that saved the day and we’re happy to say that her elderly owner is doing just fine and is recovering.
