93-Yr-Old Veteran Visits His Wife’s Grave Using 3 Different Busses And He Never Misses A Day

We will often go out of our way to care for those we love. This doesn’t always stop when they pass away.

That fact is clearly seen in the life of a 93-year-old vet from Hawaii, Ted. He lost his wife in 2013 but 6 days a week, he goes to the cemetery to visit her.

This is no small task. He has to travel from his Waikiki apartment to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. In order to make the trip, he has to take 3 different busses.

Ted looks after his wife, Florence’s grave, and makes sure it isn’t overgrown with weeds. He always leaves the grave in perfect condition because she cared for him all of those years.

Rain or shine, he gets to the cemetery at 6:30 am. He is the first to arrive most days.

They met in Pennsylvania when they were teenagers and it was love at first sight. He even told his dad that day he was going to marry her.

They spent all of those years together, only separated when he was fighting in WWII. He always kept a picture of his bride with him until they could be together again.

Ted is so dedicated that he has been making the trip to the cemetery for years. It is been over 1,300 times back and forth and in his words, ‘I’ll keep going as long as I can go.’
