When we are adults, we understand the importance of listening to our parents. It’s something that we learned over the years and we come to appreciate it, even more, when we have children of our own. Although we recognize the importance of such matters, it doesn’t necessarily mean that everybody is going to be on the same page. Ask any parent with an older teenager and they will tell you that children tend to go through cycles. At one time, they will listen to you with all of their heart but they will then turn around during a rebellious phase and think that you know nothing about life.
Of course, when children are obedient, it has the ability to melt our hearts. That is what we see in a first-grader named Mason. Like many first-graders these days, he is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. He goes to school but he has to be cautious and his mother wants him to be safe and sound. She tells him that he has to wear his mask all of the time so when Mason was told that he had to take his mask down for his school picture, he flatly refused to do so. The photographer tried to get him to take his mask off but he said his mother told him to keep it on all the time unless he’s eating and far away from everyone!
Even though the photographer tried his best to get him to take off his mask, he was serious when he said that he was going to keep it on. That is when the photographer decided to have Mason say cheese and he snapped the picture.
His mother shared the picture on Facebook and many people were thrilled to see how obedient the young boy was to what his mother told him to do. He was proud, she was proud, and I’m sure that they will be proud of that picture for many years. At least all know what year it was taken!
