Adam Lambert Goes Live Without Queen For A Great Performance Of ‘I Want To Break Free’

Have you ever noticed how there are some singers who perform in a solo career and other singers who perform with a band, and they often take on a certain persona because of their choice? For example, when you think about Bon Jovi, do you think about the singer or do you think about the band that carries his name? Of course, it isn’t just the singers who can do this, because Van Halen is named after their lead guitarist, Eddie Van Halen. There are also times when a singer may get connected to a band and it seems as if they will never be able to go on to a solo career. That was the case with Freddie Mercury, and we instantly think Queen when we hear his name.

Unfortunately, Freddie Mercury died almost 2 decades ago. It’s difficult to believe that it has been that long. Since that time, Queen has continued to perform and they have had a number of singers out front and doing their best to fill those gigantic shoes that Freddie Mercury left behind. Most recently, it has been Adam Lambert and he does a phenomenal job singing with Queen but he isn’t just a member of the band, he also is a singer that does a good job on his own. That is clear when you see the video below, where Adam Lambert went live from YouTube space in New York to sing a Queen classic, ‘I Want to Break Free’.

Although it is true that Adam Lambert was singing one of the classic songs by Queen, it wasn’t Brian May that was playing the guitar behind him. He still did an amazing job and it shows that he has talent on his own, whether he is on the stage with the rest of the band members of Queen or not!

Queen fans will continue to appreciate Freddie Mercury and all that he gave to us during his music career. Adam Lambert is also one who is sure to leave a legacy behind, and we can see part of that legacy in this video.
