Blind Singer With Autism Stuns The Judges With Hauntingly Beautiful Performance

When was the last time you heard a performance and could say it honestly brought you to tears? Many of us talk about shedding tears but we often do so on social media and we may not actually be doing it in real life. The fact of the matter is, however, there are plenty of talented individuals out there and sometimes you may just get a surprise that provides goosebumps, chills and even a tear rolling down your cheek.

The talent that you see in the various talent shows on television doesn’t discriminate. It really doesn’t matter who you are, how old or how beautiful you are, you have an opportunity to show your talent to the world. That is what Kodi Lee had the opportunity to do when he walked up on the stage of America’s got talent with his mother, Tina. The judges didn’t know what to expect when they saw him and he really didn’t look like an entertainer. As you are about to see, however, you should never judge before you see what is taking place under the surface.

Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union have been added to the season 14 panel of judges on America’s got talent. They watched this young man’s incredible performance and they knew that they were sitting in the right seats.

“Kodi is blind and autistic,” explained Kodi’s mom Tina. “We found out that he loved music really early on. He listened and his eyes just went huge, and he started singing, that’s when I was in tears. I realized he’s an entertainer. Through music and performing, he was able to withstand living in this world because when you’re autistic, it’s really hard to do what everybody else does. It actually has saved his life playing music.”

When this 22-year-old musician sings and plays, it is an incredible thing to see.

He told the judges he was going to sing a song for them on the piano. His mother sat next to him to provide him motivation and you can see that he is completely focused on what he is doing. As soon as he starts singing, however, the shock spreads to the judges and the audience.

He decided to sing Leon Russell’s “A Song for You.” I don’t think I’ve ever heard a performance this perfect on any talent show. Julianne, one of the new judges was even wiping tears from her face.

When he was finished with his song, the judges had so much good to say. “Not only did we feel the authority of what you do, but you’re a great inspiration and a great talent,” said veteran judge Howie Mandel. “It was amazing.”

Even Simon Cowell was very verbal about Kodi and called him extraordinary.

“You have a really beautiful tone,” Simon said. “Thank you so much for trusting us on this show. I’m going to remember this moment for the rest of my life.”

Julianne felt similarly and Gabrielle had a comment that really got to show off to a great start this season.

“I’m a new judge this season and I’m also a new mom this year. It’s the toughest job I’ve ever had and the most rewarding job I’ve ever had,” she said. “You just want to give your kids the moon, the stars and the rainbows. Tonight, I’m going to give you something special.”

That is when the magic started.

The golden buzzer was pressed and sent him to the final rounds of the competition. The audience wholeheartedly agreed and cheered as the golden confetti was falling.

Kodi has a talent that is certain to take him places. It’s something that he was born with and he is sharing it with the world.
