They sometimes say that a picture is worth 1000 words. Although that may be true in theory, we also realize how it can also be seen in practical ways as well. That is especially the case when it comes to a picture being shown during a trial.
Recently, we have seen something like this occurring with Amber Heard, as she has a rather telling photo associated with the physical assaults she is alleging against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. It is a picture of her bloodied lip, which she says was given to her by Depp but the judge is not allowing it.
According to TMZ, the judge is not allowing the jury to see the image. He isn’t saying that it is not associated with the incident, but it was not submitted in time for the trial, so it has been tossed out.
Heard took the stand earlier in the month and said that her ex-husband hit her in the mouth while they were arguing. She said: “I was in one of these fights, I believe it’s this one, in his downtown ECB, we call it, loft, and we’re in the kitchen living room area and he backhands me.”
She went on to say: “And, you know, it was, you know, he wears a lot of rings. I remember kind of just feeling like my lip went into my teeth, and it got a little blood on the wall. Just that simple, a little bit of blood on the wall.”
According to Heard, she took the picture after the incident took place. She is also holding some paper that says: “I shall return xxx.” allegedly, he had left the paper behind after he struck her and then left.
Although it may be visual evidence of the violence that took place, it is not being allowed. In addition to not being submitted in time, it was stated that the dates she alleged were not supported by the picture.
According to Depp’s lawyers, the picture is from 2012.
