There is something to be said for anybody who has athletic abilities. In many cases, they show those abilities from the time they are quite young and by the time they reach high school, they may be stars on their local team. As far as high school athletics are concerned, students continue to work very hard in order to stand out from among the competition. It doesn’t matter what type of team you’re talking about, regardless of the sport, they need something that is a little out of the ordinary in order to make themselves stand out.
When it comes to standing out, there are things that the team can do specifically but there are also those who support the team that can make them stand out as well. That was the case with the Don City High School Drill Team. They wanted to make themselves look a little bit different and during the championship basketball game halftime performance, they took the crowd by surprise. In fact, you might even say that they took their breath away.
The video performance of what they did that day was shared online. The team went out into the center court and a soloist within the group start singing the song, Hallelujah. Before long, two other girls joined in the singing while the rest of the girls start dancing. It is a beautifully choreographed dance but it seems rather ordinary at first.
The only thing that really stands out is the costumes because they are lighting up the crowns on her head and the capes, which turn into wings.
That is when things get really interesting. The lights go out and the crowd is given a show.
Suddenly, the music transitions to a remix version of the song and the costumes light up to create a beautifully choreographed light show.
Within moments, the dance is completely transformed and it is one of the most epic things we have seen in a long time. We are not the only ones who appreciate it, however, it has been shared thousands of times on social media and people everywhere are commenting about how beautiful it is.
This team has found a way to stand out from the competition and they’ve done so in an amazing way.
