Driver Ends A Pay-It-Forward Streak At Starbucks With A $46 Bill

There are plenty of people who have opinions about pay it forward. Most of us feel as if it is a good idea, and it helps us feel good about ourselves and help others in the same motion.

There are also people who feel that some try to pay it forward but it doesn’t necessarily work for the benefit of anyone. That is the case with a Starbucks pay it forward. Maybe you’ve been caught in one of these before.

Essentially, somebody at Starbucks will pay for the car behind them and then it is expected that the car behind them will pay for the next car in line. It continues to go on until somebody has the nerve enough to say ‘no, I’m going to pay for my own.’

Eventually, this is something that usually works to the benefit of the barista and the other employees at Starbucks. When somebody breaks the chain, their bill is already paid so they will likely give the money that was due for their order as a tip.

Regardless, it was something interesting that became a rather viral video on tick-tock. It seems as if somebody had been in a pay it forward line at Starbucks and they broke a 23-car streak.

They didn’t break it because they were selfish or because they just wanted to do something rude. They broke up because they had ordered a six-dollar drink and the car behind them had $46 worth of beverages and food.

Honestly, if I was asked to pay $46 for a six-dollar drink at Starbucks, I would balk at it as well. Most certainly, I would shut down the pay it forward line and I really don’t care if I got dirty looks or not.

Many people came on to comment about this and to say that they had been in a similar situation. Let’s face it, it is a treat to go to Starbucks and sometimes, we just have enough to get through the line and get our special coffee drink. The last thing we need is to spend an extra $40 when we also have to put food on our table.
