Kevin Bacon has certainly made a name for himself and he is one of those actors that can truly be described as having a ‘household name.’
He broke into the industry when he was in the movie Footloose back in the 1980s. Since that time, he has gone on to make many other movies, including Apollo 13 and A Few Good Men. He is not limited to one particular genre but rather, he seems to fit in many different areas. He has one of those faces that is easily recognizable.
Although most people think about Kevin Bacon as being a successful actor, he also has other things to his name as well. This includes being married to Kyra Sedgwick, and their marriage has lasted a long time. In fact, with three decades of matrimony, they are an example for many others in Hollywood.
Sedgwick is also well-known, thanks to the TV series, The Closer. She won a primetime Emmy award and a Golden Globe award for her performance as the lead on that show. It went on for seven seasons but eventually, was shut down in 2012.
One of the things that Kevin Bacon is known for is the tribute that he gave to his wife back in 2020. They met during the 1970s, when Bacon was playing a role in a local play and Sedgwick was in attendance. Kevin Bacon was only 19 and Sedgwick was 12!
That was quite an early meeting and eventually, they met again and things were a little different that time. Sedgwick was now 23 years old and they got married in 1988.
Since that time, they have remained married and are happy with each other and the relationship they have together. Kevin Bacon even went on Instagram in 2020 to show a picture from their wedding because it was their 23rd anniversary and he wanted to do something special for her.
The message that he wrote that day was simple but it was loving and many people were amazed at how well the two were doing together. He captioned the post: “11,680 days with you. Thanks for making them all count.”
As you can imagine, there were plenty of people commenting, but there were only commenting about things that they already knew. Kevin Bacon and his wife are doing well.
They also had some difficult times along the way, including a very bad day in 2008. According to People, they were the victim of the largest Ponzi scheme in history and lost all of their savings. Although it was difficult, they came back from it and are still doing quite well as a couple.
