Jane Seymore Speaks Out About Her Last Visit With Olivia Newton-John

It’s always sad when we lose someone as awesome as Olivia Newton-John. After she died peacefully from her long battle with breast cancer, the world has been mourning her death.

One person who has been mourning more than others is Jane Seymour. The two of them are old friends and Jane spoke to TODAY about their friendship and about the last time they met.

Jane spoke about that friendship, saying: “We had a lot of ups and downs with careers and husbands and children and life. We had a very special bond and it was pretty unique for me.”

“I don’t think I ever had a friend that really could understand or wanted to understand what that life was like. And I really miss her,” she said.

She spoke about how she visited Olivia at her home recently. The Grease actress said she wasn’t feeling well and had even mistaken one day for another. That being said, Jane was welcomed with open arms.

She said: “And she got out of bed, got dressed, came out on a walker – I mean, she really should not have gotten out of bed at all – and she just sat down with us for quite awhile and asked us: How are we? How was our lives? How could she help us?”

Even though Olivia was going downhill fast, she spoke about how beautiful it was there. Jane said: “I just sit out here and I just look at the world. I mean, how beautiful? I look at the sky, listen to the hummingbirds, I look at that dog. Look at this life that we have. And us together after all these years.”

It seems as if Olivia had been sick for a long time but she never gave into selfishness and she wasn’t overly sad. Jane said: “What brings tears to my eyes is that she always cared about other people. She always asked about me, asked about my family, about people I knew or we mutually knew who were going through cancer. She was just this positive light and amazing, amazing person.”

In the end, Jane is happy that she had a close friendship with her. She said: “As much as she was suffering, she never spoke about it, ever. She just put a smile on her face and said, ‘I’m thriving. I’m thriving.’”
