John Travolta Speaks Out On Losing His Wife And Supporting Their Children

We may sometimes feel that being a celebrity puts you in a life of privilege and you get to do things that other people don’t have the opportunity to do. Although that may be true to a certain extent, celebrities are also people and they suffer many of the same things that you and I face, sometimes on a daily basis. Unfortunately, there are also times when they face the loss of a loved one and that is what happened in July 2020, when Kelly Preston lost her life to breast cancer. Her husband, John Travolta, no doubt looked back on their 28 years of marriage and reflected on just how much she meant to him. He even admitted in an interview that he learned how much mourning was an individual feeling and how important it was to allow an individual to live it.

Although we sometimes think of John Travolta as being the person that he was in the various roles that he played on the silver screen, he was also an individual with very deep feelings. He even said that he had difficulty confronting his feelings but not because he didn’t want to face them. It was because he was helping other people to deal with their grief. That is a difficulty that many of us face, as people come to comfort us and we find that we are comforting them in return. He spoke about how important it was to experience grief on your own without any interference, and I think that all of us can appreciate that fact.

It was back in 1989 when John Travolta met Kelly Preston when they were filming The Experts. By 1991, they were married. They have three children together, 21-year-old Ella, 10-year-old Benjamin, and they had a 16-year-old son, Jett, who died in 2009. Along with dealing with the grief himself, he also is helping his children to deal with it as well.

As the interview progressed, you could really tell that John Travolta was being very reminiscent of his wife and how much she meant to him over the years. He even spoke about a special memory of when they shared a dance together in the White House. There is no doubt that Kelly Preston will be missed, especially by her family.
