On June 9, 2022, actor Johnny Depp celebrated his 59th birthday just eight days after a jury in his widely-publicized defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard returned a stunning verdict in his favor.

On June 1, 2022, a jury in Fairfax, Virginia, awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages after the actor sued his ex-wife for $50 million, accusing her of defaming him when she wrote a 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post describing herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

While the article never mentions Depp by name, everyone immediately knew the Aquaman actress was referring to her ex-husband. As a result, Depp lost his most prominent role as Captian Jack Sparrow just a few days after the article was published. That role would have reportedly paid him $22.5 million to star in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequel.

Meanwhile, since the end of the trial, Depp has been out and about enjoying life, playing guitar alongside his buddy Jeff Beck in England while living it up at fancy restaurants such as the Varanasi in Birmingham, where he and 20 0f his friends racked up a bill of over $60,000 in one night!

Depp also recently opened an Instagram account and featured his first video, a mash-up of scenes showing him waving to his supporters outside the Virginia courtroom and playing guitar on stage with Jeff Beck.
