Little Baby Singing To Karen Carpenter Will Steal Your Heart

As we move our way through life, there are certain things that just make us feel good. It doesn’t take long before we recognize those things and when we are feeling down, we might seek them out so we feel better. One of those items that tend to make us feel good is when we have some ‘comfort food’. It might be mashed potatoes or perhaps a nice roast but in any case, it is something that can instantly make us feel better about anything that is making us feel down.

Something else that has the power to make us feel better is when we see a baby smile. There is just something precious about the innocence that is wrapped up in that expression. When we see it personally, we want to carry it around with us all day long. That is where technology comes in. We can easily take a picture or video of the moment and it is captured for us to revisit anytime we like. That is what happened when this family friend started singing a Carpenters song to a 4-month-old baby. It was caught on video and when it was uploaded, it went viral.

The little baby’s name is Adler and he is in a car seat on the table enjoying the show. Annie, the family friend is singing ‘I Need To Be In Love’ and the baby is loving it.

A man by the name of John just happened to be in the room and he started recording.

Adler is smiling from ear to ear as he listens to her sing. As you watch it for yourself, you can’t help but be touched by the scene.

She sings as a piano plays in the background:

The hardest thing I’ve ever done
Is keep believing
There’s someone in this crazy world for me…

Adler is loving what he is seeing so much that he wants to join in the song. He starts moving his mouth to the music and making little sounds.

As you watch it for yourself, you can’t help but feel your heart melting. I’m sure that Karen Carpenter would have loved it as well. According to the Song Facts website:

According to Carpenters – The Untold Story by Ray Coleman, “I Need To Be In Love” was Karen Carpenter’s very favorite song.

Everyone who saw it happening was amazed by what they were seeing. After John loaded the video on YouTube, he added the description:

Doug came by to teach me some chords for a song–Annie had started singing the Karen Carpenter song, “I Know I Need To Be In Love.” 4-month old Alder then tried to sing, too. (Its a friend of our child, she brought him by ) So I grabbed a nearby camera. Thanks to Lisa for bringing him over. What a cutie – John

The video began to circulate quickly and has millions of views. There were also many comments, including:

This video just made my day! The joy on this beautiful and innocent child’s face melted my heart. Beautiful voice, thank you!”

Someone else added:

That sweet precious baby felt every word of that song. Karen would have been so proud, you did a wonderful job singing.
