There are plenty of people who pay attention to the fashion world and one of the reasons why they do so is because of the models that tend to walk down the catwalk. When the fashion shows take place, it is not just the clothing that is being modeled that day but it is actually the people who are modeling it as well. Some of those individuals may have stories to tell and they have a platform to do it from, the catwalk. That was the case with a young girl from Malta. She was only four years old but she was making people smile everywhere.
Francesca Rausi is the name of that young girl. Francesca has Down syndrome and you couldn’t help but see the joy on her face as she was modeling in front of others. Although she was on the catwalk that day for charity, she was actually there with another model who also has down syndrome. That model was 23 years old, Australian model Madeline Stuart. She was the first to walk the catwalk with Down syndrome. Michelle is the mother of the young girl and she feels that she can do the same. When giving an interview to Metro, she said: “Francesca has been modeling since she was very young.”
When Francesca’s mom watches her little girl walking on the catwalk, she is so happy that she feels ‘very emotional’. Tiziana Randisi is the organizer of the event who wants to have real inclusion so that people with disabilities and from all walks of life will be able to take part. She wants to break down the barriers that tend to separate us.
We look forward to seeing more out of this young model and everything that she has to offer. You can watch more in the following video:
