If you’ve ever seen a movie with Matthew McConaughey, it was probably a romantic comedy. Most people know him as a romantic person in the movies and, as it seems, he is also the same in person.
This can be seen with his marriage to Camila Alves, and it is a love story in real life. He takes a serious approach to maintain his love life but this isn’t in the way of huge gifts.
“I don’t have a certain thing I buy her,” McConaughey told TODAY. “An earnest handwritten note, that she knows I sat down and took some time and has some poetry to it, that’s worth more than whatever retail I paid for something.”
McConaughey met his wife in 2006 and it was love at first sight. He said that he couldn’t believe how beautiful she was when he saw her. He couldn’t comprehend all of her qualities and he knew she was the one for him.
He also claims that he is faithful to her to a fault. When he is around her, he feels something special and he wants it to continue to feel that way. They were married in 2012 and have 3 children together.
Camila also said that she didn’t always dream of being married. At one point, she felt that she would stay single for life, so she wasn’t ready for how special her wedding would make her feel.
These days, the couple spends their days trying to care for their children. This includes Friday night pizza and movies, that could even lead to a late-night dance party.
The kids are not kept from sleeping in their parent’s bed on special days and they have certain rules that they enforce with the children. They also tend to be laid-back, which goes along with Matthew’s style.
Matthew feels that they work together well because they have different styles but similar morals. It’s a love story that we don’t hear very often but it is one that we appreciate.
