For fans of actor Owen Wilson, they are used to seeing the actor play various roles. However, most of his roles seem to follow a familiar trend, portraying the actor as a laid-back, slightly aloof, but an overall good-hearted person who always does the right thing in the end. Well, this story might be another reminder of how real life and the silver screen are not the same. You see, while the actor seems to have experienced a career resurgence in 2019, according to his ex-girlfriend Varunie Vongsvirates, Wilson has basically abandoned his own child. She accuses the Marley and Me star of showing no interest in even meeting his one-year-old daughter, whose name is Lyla.
She says that he even changed his phone number so he could avoid her calls just after she told him she was pregnant. No, this doesn’t seem like the Owen Wilson we thought we knew! And it’s an especially odd move considering that he also has two sons from his prior relationships, whose lives he’s heavily involved in. Wilson and Vongsvirates were said to have been dating for years. Hollywood life reports that the single mom was first seen with the actor back in 2014. And she was on his arm at a red carpet event in 2017 at the Father Figures premiere (I know, the irony, right?).

According to Radar Online, not only did Wilson wish not to be involved in his daughter’s life, but he also actively avoided Vongsvirates when she told him about her pregnancy.
The publication says the actor immediately changed his number, and they believe he’d still been in a relationship with Vongsvirates up until that revelation.

Since that time, the actor also had a DNA test performed, which confirmed little Lyla’s paternity.
However, Wilson has still yet to reach out or make any effort to be a part of the child’s life.
Vongsvirates says that she’s not trying to wrangle Wilson into a romantic relationship but does wish the actor would accept his daughter and make her a part of his life as he’s done for his sons.
