Ask any mother and they will tell you, it can be difficult when you are pregnant. You have to deal with your body that is changing at all times and for many women, it seems as if it is a constant, uphill struggle.
For the most part, it is the kindness of others that goes a long way in helping a pregnant woman feel good. Perhaps they tell her how good she looks or just a little smile lets them know that we are on their side.
If that is what you’re looking for, you wouldn’t want to look for it in Marysville, Washington at the local steakhouse. After all, a pregnant woman came for a meal wearing a crop top, and they told her to leave.
It all happened in the seventh month of pregnancy for Charisha Raylee Gobin. The weather was hot, so she decided to wear a skirt and a cropped T-shirt. To show that it was somewhat of a joke and that she had a sense of humor, the shirt actually said ‘weirdo’ on the front.
Admittedly, there are plenty of people who would find this type of attire to be rather shocking. Crop tops, in general, are accepted under most conditions but being pregnant in a crop top is another story. It seems as if the steakhouse agreed.
In speaking with CBS news, Charisha said that it was due to ‘health code violations’ that they asked her to leave. She was understandably upset and posted a rant on Facebook that got the attention of many people, including the restaurant.
There were many people from the local area who said that they would never visit the steakhouse again. That is when the manager of the restaurant posted an apology on their own social media page.
“The server in question has been with our [company] for almost 20 years,” the statement to the local news media issued by Buzz Inn management read. “[She] was trying to use her best judgment and by no means was trying to be demeaning to [Charisha].” The company went on to offer their “sincerest apologies.”
There were many people who were upset over the restaurant’s actions but there were others who were upset with the outfit, saying it was inappropriate. I guess everybody has their own opinion.
