Robin Williams Is Honored By His Children 8 Years After Dying

There are many people that have come and gone in our lives and sometimes, we don’t really give them the attention they deserve. When it comes to Robin Williams, however, there are people who give him attention almost constantly. His children are included in the mix.

It’s hard to believe that Robin Williams has been gone for eight years. The world misses him and his humor, but his children miss him even more.

That is why the children of the late Robin Williams decided that on the eighth anniversary of his death, they would honor him. His daughter, who also won an Academy award went to Twitter to get things started. Zelda Williams wrote:

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.”

She also reached out to help people know where they could turn if they were considering suicide.

“A thread of suicide prevention resources I have mostly posted before. Please add any others you know of that may be helpful to others below too, so they can find them. I don’t ask for much, but if I may, be gentle to your hearts today. I know I’m trying. X,” she said.

Zak Williams, his son, also got involved by posting a picture and a note on Twitter.

The caption read: “Dad, on the eighth anniversary of your passing, I’m remembering how incredibly kind and joyful you were. I deeply miss you you wonderful, hairy man and will be celebrating your life today. Love you so so much!”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Robin Williams was only 63 years old in 2014 when he committed suicide. His son has been an advocate for mental health since that time.

When speaking with Today, Zak Williams said: “Part of Inseparable’s mandate is to enable expanded access for all Americans to have high quality care and when it comes to mental health support in this day and age, most Americans don’t have access to that care.”

“Expanded access to support all people is essential, especially at a time when we’re in the most need,” he said. “And we need to take measures to ensure that people get the appropriate support they need, whether it involves prevention, support for chronic conditions or expanded support and services for intervention-oriented situations.”
