Students Coordinate Their Moves In An Impressive New Dance

Dancing has always been a popular pastime and many of us have enjoyed watching it over the years. In the past few years, however, it has become much more popular and we’ve been introduced to dance on a very intimate level. If you spend any amount of time watching shows such as Dancing With The Stars or so You Think You Can Dance, you probably marvel at some of the different styles as well as the talents that have been around for years. It might even inspire you to try to learn some of those dances as well.

Although some of the dancing that we may watch is known by a particular name, there are other dances that are unique and amazing to watch as well. Some of them require a certain level of skill that many of us could not even hope to attain. That is the case with these teenagers, who are doing something known as a coordination dance. Not only does it require a lot of skill, it requires a lot of energy and there is a lot of memory involved because it is such an intricate style of dancing.

At the beginning of the dance, rings are placed on the floor in a particular fashion. There are different colored rings and each of them are lined up in a row. Two lines of dancers face off with each other, and one of the lines is made up of a group of boys and the other line is girls. Every dancer is carrying 2 small sticks.

The music begins as the rhythm starts and they use the sticks to pound out the tune. Their bodies then begin to respond to the music.

One dancer from each side jumps into the rings and they have identical dance moves to each other. They remain within their own colored circles.

Two dancers move up to the next row of rings. Another student then jumps in from each side and dances into the first row.

When the two students that started the dance leave the ring, two more from the other side join in. They then move around to the lineup again. It continues going just like this.

It may seem random at first but it is actually orchestrated. Every dancer knows where they need to be and when to make their next move. That is how they are able to dance across the circles and not run into each other.

If you look closely, you will see that the rings are actually painted on the floor.

Here is another example where a teacher leads the students who are younger this time.

Rather than being colored rings on the floor, there are squares. The teacher is the only one using a musical instrument and they lead the students dancing through the squares. Eventually, the teacher leaves the squares and the student is now in the lead.

Coordination dancing begins with two circles when the dancers are young. They are taught to play clap your hands and then learn to jump in and out of the circles. Eventually, they move on to a more coordinated type of dance with other students.

The little children are getting accustomed to holding items and going along with the rhythm while they are standing and waiting to dance.

The teacher shows them how to move and they learn to synchronize their motions with the teacher.

Spanish schools seem to be teaching this type of dance but it is a routine that may do well in any school district.
