Our lives have changed in the past six months as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the changes are to be expected, such as the need to stay indoors and to keep our social distance from others. There are other changes, however, that we may never have thought we would see in the United States and one of those is the need to wear facemasks. Although there is some pushback by some who claim it isn’t necessary, many people have become accustomed to wearing masks in public and are even embracing it with at least a little style.
They sometimes say that necessity is the mother of invention, and perhaps that is why we are seeing so many new and innovative facemasks being invented. It isn’t always about the purpose of the mask and how they work, it’s often about how they look. When you really stop to think about it, facemasks are now becoming somewhat of a fashion statement so we need to combine our desire to stay safe from the virus with being stylish. That is where Heathyr Lawrence comes in. She has designed a bat facemask that you can either wear on October 31 as part of your costume or every day, just to keep yourself safe.
Some people would certainly consider the HL for Mantrap Edition Bat Mask to be a fashion statement, but it’s also comfortable and functional as well. The four-panel construction allows for a better fit and it is made from 100% cotton sheeting.
Admittedly, not everybody is going to want to wear this face mask in public but some people are going to embrace the style and you may even see some out in the middle of August. It will be interesting to see where facemasks go from this point forward but for now, it seems as if they are a part of the new norm.
