We are living in a rather difficult time. One by one, we have all learned how to keep our distance from other people and it can be both stressful and difficult. After all, humans tend to thrive on touch and we really need that closeness in our lives in order to feel that special bond that we have with others. At the same time, however, we recognize the dangers that exist as a result of the coronavirus and we do want to keep our distance so that we can stay safe and keep our family safe as well. There are many ways that we might do this, and Walmart has stepped in to make sure that it is much easier for all of us.
If you do any shopping at Walmart, you already realize that they can be a rather busy store. Now that we are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, they are limiting how many people can go into the store and keeping it at about 20% capacity in most cases. They could see that the effort they were putting forth was working but they decided to take it even further. That is when they put some signs on the floor, and as of April 23, 2020, Walmart stores across the country are going to be doing the same thing. Those decals that are on the floor indicate how you should move through the aisles, so that you don’t have to be too close to other customers.
Walmart recognize that one-way aisles are the best way to increase social distancing and to give customers additional space that they would need to. It may be something that we consider to be a small effort, but it is working quite well.
Other stores are also following suit, including Kroger and Giant Food. They are testing out the one-way aisles as well and who knows, there may be other stores that try the same thing. You can read more about it in this Facebook post below:
