A 33-year-old woman in Littleton, New Hampshire, stands accused of impersonating a Hillsborough County prosecutor so that she could dismiss charged against herself currently pending in court. Lisa Landon was originally facing stalking and drug possession charges. Still, she was somehow able to hack into the county’s electronic filing system and pose as a prosecutor before dismissing her own charges. However, it’s Landon’s mugshot that’s really stirred up attention as it shows the woman posing with a wide smile, despite the fact she’s likely facing much more serious charges. The Union Leader reports, Landon sent in the fake documents for three different court cases last November and December. However, since the county has relatively few cases, local authorities quickly smelled a rat.
In November, the real prosecutors became suspicious after being contacted by the state forensic examiner, who was supposed to perform a competency evaluation on Landon. The official asked prosecutors why the charges were being dismissed.
“The file purported to contain a nolle prosequi (drop the charges) filed by Assistant County Attorney Patrice Casian, but it quickly became evident to the State that the document, as well as other documents in the file, had been filed fraudulently,” Superior Court Judge David Anderson wrote in a recent ruling on Landon’s case.

And now, in addition to her original charges, Landon also faces a charge of false personation along with six charges of falsifying physical evidence, plus she was recently indicted on charges of theft and burglary.
