Woman Finds Huge Spider In Her Door Handle And Refuses To Drive For A Week

People tend to be afraid of many different things. At times, a healthy fear is going to be a good thing and it will keep us out of trouble. At other times, however, we may find that a general fear turns into something much more. When our fear tends to control us and we can’t do anything about it, it steps over from being a fear to being a phobia. To be honest, people have phobias about everything from heights to a fear of flatulence, but there are some that are more prominent than others. Perhaps the one we recognize more than any other is arachnophobia, a morbid fear of spiders.

Although I don’t suffer from arachnophobia, I don’t necessarily like running across one of those eight legged creatures in my day-to-day activities. It really freaks me out when I think about how spiders are almost everywhere in the world around us. In fact, some people estimate that there is always a spider within 10 feet of you at any given time! That was illustrated in a hilarious and perhaps somewhat uncomfortable way when a woman found a huge spider in the door handle of her car. She was so distraught over the situation that this woman from New South Wales, Australia, decided not to drive for a week.

Christine Jones does suffer from the fear of spiders, like many of us. She happened to see the spider, thankfully, before she tried to get her car door open. I couldn’t even imagine how I would’ve felt if I had reached in and pulled out my hand with the spider attached to it! Fortunately, she also took some pictures and uploaded them so the Australian Spider Identification Page on Facebook could do its work.

This is one of those issues that is straight out of the nightmares of anyone who suffers from arachnophobia. As it turns out, the post went viral and was shared thousands of times. People are commenting, with some saying it looks like a male huntsman spider and others just wondering why she didn’t run screaming in the other direction.
