Woman Takes Selfie From Top Of Car As It Sinks In A Frozen River

Something interesting happened recently in Manotick on the Rideau River. A woman was out driving her car on the ice when suddenly, the ice decided to give way underneath her.

As her car began to sink into the freezing water, she clambered out of the car through the sunroof. Meanwhile, concerned neighbors were doing what they could to save her from freezing to death in the water.

As her car continued to sink, the police were called and neighbors were busy trying to figure out how they could save her. They decided to grab a kayak, tie a rope to it and slide it across the ice for her.

This was a brilliant idea and the police were even thankful that they took the action to rescue this woman before they arrived. It was what she did while she was waiting, however, that really got some attention.

As she was standing on top of the sinking car, about to go underwater, she pulled out her cell phone and took a selfie. Meanwhile, people were rushing to try to save her and even risking their own lives while she was capturing the moment in a picture.

Fortunately, they were able to pull her off of the ice as you can see in the videos below. They have no idea why she was out there, but some video footage showed her recklessly driving on the ice prior to the time that she went through.

The police have charged her with one count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Let’s hope that she learned her lesson. I’m sure the picture will go viral.
