Freddie Mercury’s Vocal Solo Track From “We Are The Champions” Is Utterly Astonishing

Freddie Mercury is one of those iconic singers that we often find worthy of imitation. It is not only his flamboyant stage garnishments that stand out from among the rest, but it is also his vocal range and his voice, which gave Queen the unique style that all of us enjoyed. He also happens to be one of the more recognizable individuals in classic rock, especially now that Bohemian Rhapsody has been released as a movie.

When you see the movie and follow the life story of the band, you get to know Mercury just a little bit better. Now that it is out everywhere for the entire public, including the new generation, anytime a Queen song comes on the radio, everybody sings along loud and proud.

Queen has been the owner of many different hits that have topped the charts over the years. It is therefore not a surprise that they have a huge amount of fans.

One YouTube channel, in particular, found a rather unique way to celebrate the group. They removed all of the background music from ‘We Are the Champions’ and if you have an appreciation for Queen, you really owe it to yourself to listen to it.

“We love Queen and Freddie Mercury, so we’ve edited 4 concert films including a rare recording session of ‘We Are The Champions’ and synced them all up to the isolated vocals in honor of the late, great, Freddie Mercury. This video showcases his presence and consistency as the ultimate stage man. RIP Freddie. You are a rock god,” the video description reads.

When you hear Mercury singing the lyrics without the music, you will understand why he was so popular.

You can truly appreciate the quality of his voice without the music playing along with it. It’s a beautiful way to listen to what he has to offer.

There are also a number of concerts that they highlight in the video and they are awesome. The clips continue to change every few seconds but you relive some of the best moments of the band.

It’s almost as if you were there in 1985 for Live Aid. It is a performance that would eventually become known as one of the greatest rock concerts ever performed.

Mercury died from health complications after contracting HIV. Over time, he became frail but it didn’t stop him from performing.

“And we’ll keep on fighting ’til the end” the legendary lyrics from “We Are The Champions” read.

And he did continue to fight. Unfortunately, the illness would end up being too much for him and in 1990, he appeared for the last time during the Brit awards at the Dominion Theatre in London. He won the award for outstanding contribution to music.

Freddie Mercury died on November 24, 1991. It’s hard to believe that almost 30 years have passed but fortunately, we still have videos like these where we can remember his music and relive it as if it were the first time we heard it.
