Treating ourselves is something that almost every human likes to do but the way that they treat themselves may differ from one person to another. One of the things that always seems to come up on the radar, however, are frozen treats. Ice cream is one of those treats but there are many others that could be included in the list. If humans love a frozen treat every once in a while, what about our furry friends? Should they be included when we enjoy a big bowl of ice cream?
First of all, you need to consider what is healthy for your dog and ice cream doesn’t land on that list. That doesn’t mean, however, that they don’t enjoy having a treat every once in a while and a frozen treat may just be preferred. It is possible to make your own, and that is what Shelby, Memphis, and Oakley get to enjoy. They are Siberian Huskies who are part of the YouTube channel, Gone to the Snow Dogs and their humans have created a recipe that your dogs are going to love.
You can see why the owners of these three dogs would want to create a treat that they would love. After all, it can be difficult to have three dogs running around the house so keeping them happy is a priority. The best part about this treat is you only need some ice cubes, a few ingredients and a blender.
Here’s what you need.
Ingredients
Seedless watermelon
Coconut water or coconut milk
Honey
Ice cube tray
Your dogs are probably watching with anticipation by this point.
Directions
After cutting the seedless watermelon in half, throw it into a blender. Puree the watermelon until it becomes more of a liquid consistency.
Add in a bit of honey and a cup of coconut water or coconut milk.
Blend together for a few seconds.
Pour mixture into ice cube tray. Allow to freeze.
Enjoy!
Incidentally, those ingredients are also good for humans so you might want to enjoy some of these treats as well.
Here are some step-by-step instructions in the form of a video:
Don’t worry if your dog’s not a watermelon fan, they offer many other options for making treats they will love.
Just stay away from the ice cream.
