She Finally Asked Why Her Neighbor Sprinkles Baby Powder On Her Lawn

We may enjoy many different types of pleasures in this life but eventually, we come to realize that it is the simple things that often mean the most to us. Enjoying a beautiful sunset, watching a baby smile or taking a walk on a beach are some of those things that just can’t be purchased with money. One of the things that many of us find enjoyable is working in the garden, regardless of whether we are growing vegetables just tending to the lawn.

Anybody who has ever had a hobby of gardening realizes that there are both good and bad that come along with it. The good is the fact that you get to work with your hands and to see the fruits of your labors, so to speak. The problems often come with animals or bugs that invade our gardens and can do a lot of damage in a very short amount of time. We may have even have tried a number of different solutions but sometimes, it is the simple things that really make all the difference.

Did you realize that a little bit of baby powder can go a long way in helping you to manage your garden? It might seem like it is too simple of a solution but baby powder can help to fight off everything from ants, aphids and beetles to rabbits and other pests! It can also be used around the house for other reasons.

Here is how to use baby powder outside of the home.

Rabbits – rabbits do not like the taste or smell of baby powder. When you sprinkle some around the garden it will keep them away. Just make sure that you do it from time to time because the wind can blow it away.

Ants – it doesn’t matter if it is inside or outside, ants can be a big problem. They can come in your home or garden and cause a lot of difficulties. Sprinkle some baby powder around the foundation of the house, in your doorways and around the garden to keep the ants from coming around.

Beetles – rabbits and ants don’t like baby powder and neither do beetles. Just a small amount on the plant leaves is enough to keep Japanese beetles and other beetles away. They just don’t like the taste. Just make sure if the wind blows or if it rains that you reapply.

Aphids – this is one of the bigger problems that gardeners have to face. They are sometimes referred to as black flies, whiteflies, green flies and plant life. Sprinkle some baby powder when you see them in your garden and they will go away.

How to use baby powder inside

Root rot – you can prevent root rot in indoor bulbs. Sprinkle a little bit on the bulbs and put them in a ziplock bag. When you add a few tablespoons of baby powder, seal the bag and shake it up. When you are ready to plant them the mice will not feed on them and they will not rot.

Shoe odor – we all realize that shoes can stink but if you sprinkle a little bit of baby powder inside it will help to absorb the mold and reduce the odor.

Tools – you might have a problem with friction on your hands when you use certain tools but you can reduce the friction and keep them from slipping when your hands get sweaty. Apply the baby powder to your tools and it can also help to reduce blisters.

Using these life hacks can make your life a lot easier. I’m sure that you never thought of baby powder to use around the home in this way but it really works.
