Being a dog parent has endless rewards, from all the cuddles and doggie kisses to the feeling of love they give us when they meet us at the door. However, one of the many responsibilities involved in owning a dog is picking up after them. No we’re not talking about the potted plant or vase they knocked over last week, we’re talking about those little brown presents they leave in the yard. It’s hard to find one dog owner who doesn’t slightly resent putting on plastic gloves or getting a plastic bag to remove (sometimes warm) dog poo. Sure there are plenty of folks who get used to it and don’t think twice about their dooties (see what I did there?). But many of us still cringe at the thought of having to conduct a poo scavenge in our yards.
This is why a company has come up with a very modern solution to this problem, inventing a robot that not only finds and detects dog poo, it automatically picks it up for you too — meaning you would never have to do the dirty deed again! The robot is called, Beetl, and it’s equipped with a custom computer system that has special cameras and sensors to detect and seek out dog turds. Once it locks on the target, the robot moves directly over the offending excrement and uses its mechanical claw to scoop it right up. Also, the beetl’s sensors allows the robot to avoid any obstacles in its way and stay well within a perimeter that you can set yourself.
The only thing you really need to do is set up the boundaries on your lawn, then just let the robot do its thing and get rolling to sniff out and remove your doggo’s poop.
The robot’s advanced AI can also connect to a cloud network, allowing the robot to learn and develop new poop removing strategies.
Sadly, the robot is still in its testing phase, which means, for now, you still have to put on those gloves and get back there to handle your dog’s business.
What a drag.
